I previously mentioned that I was waiting for the new version of SMF, 2.0.14 to be released for various reasons.
Well, it's live now. Most important to the Collective is:
This patch will provide PHP 7 compatiblity and HTTPS, as well as some security and bug fixes.
I'm not doing this for a day or two.
There's a template replacement as part of this update and I'm afraid it will break the Forum or at least lose some of the things we've added such as the links to the New Forum in profiles and some other Gallery related things here and there.
I'm going to back up the current templates for the theme and then update.
If things go bad, I can compare the two versions, figure out what's missing and fix it.
I will give at least 48 hours notice before I do this. I likely will lock the forum down until I'm finished with the update in case things go really badly.
