To find the latest images, and have them displayed, click on Recent Pictures (List All), that will then open a new window with the Gallery images being listed from newest to oldest.

To look at a particular person's Gallery, Scroll to the bottom of the main page, click on Member Galleries. At the moment there is only myself and MesmerEyes listed, but as people populate their account with images, their names will appear on that list. At the moment it is Most images uploaded first, but I will likely be changing that to alphabetical when I can do so.

And questions can be posted here.

Clicking on the small image will bring you to the medium one and the commenting page. Click on that page's image and the image will be enlarged to fit your screen. If that isn't big enough, then goto the bottom right corner of the image and click the expand logo there to do so.

You can also automatically download the image by clicking the Download Image link.

The new gallery looks great! If it helps I've been viewing it on a Nexus 7 tablet through Chrome Browser and it works well with the touch screen interface. Though I'm sure you've tested this kind of thing thought I'd just let you know.

Also thanks for all your work keeping the Collective open. Especially over the festive season! Awesome stuff!

Gallery list order is now defaulted to Member Name Descending Order like the old Gallery was. You can change the sort if you want by using the drop-down menus.

Just looked at the new gallery and it looks brilliant. I will wait and see how you end up presenting it and everything before commenting too much, but so far so good.

. It will be a good idea to make the going through the pictures similar to the old gallery rather than having to skip back to the main page. Only way I have found to go through them similar to the old gallery is to use the slideshow, which might be a pain as more pictures are added. But other than that, well done.

At the moment, the only way to get a full list of the new images and then page through them is to click on the UNVIEWED button at the top of the Gallery. Then that will show a paged list of the images that have not been seen by you. Click on the first one and you will see a thumbnail at the top to move to the next image.

I know that's clunky, but it's one of the things that I didn't like and we're waiting on an update for the Gallery to make that better.

Otherwise you can click on Recent Pictures (List All) and then you'll see the new uploads listed. You have to page back to the Recent Pictures page to get to the next one in that case. Again, we're waiting on an update for the Gallery to make that better.

Important Note about posting images!

Please use commas between your keywords! This is very important for the keyword search and keyword cloud tag!

Without this, searches for FD and/or MD works will not work!

What formats are supported by the new gallery? I tried uploading a .swf flash video the other day; however, there was no image to click on to access it.

Flash isn't supported as yet, I hope to have that sorted out soon.

1 - Click New Forum Gallery link

2 - Click My Gallery

3 - Click Add Category

4 - Fill in that screen and save, you'll have a Category then for yourself.

5 - Click Add Picture tab and follow the next screen, you'll find the new category under User Galleries. Select, then click Add picture

6 - Now you can upload an image on the next screen that appears.

That should do it...

I've changed the page list to 56 images per page, which is close to the old gallery so when you click Show All you'll see that.

Also, videos should be uploadable now.

The Gallery can accept: wmv,avi,mpg,mov,rm,ram,rpm,flv,asf,asx,swf,mp4,webm,ogg,wav,mid and mp3 files.

Max size is, for the moment, 2MB, but we'll see how that works for us.

I would like to ask if possible on the gallery, can a button be added where it says "Home, Help, Search Profile, My Messages, Calendar, Old Archive Gallery, New Forum Gallery, etc." can we please have a selection that sends us to the user galleries found here, please:

As per request, there is now a tab at the top of the Forum which reads GALLERY ARTISTS. If you click on that the list of members that have uploaded art to the Gallery will appear.

I really like the Unviewed option for new manips, but is there a way to mark all as viewed?

There are always a few that I don't really care to click on, and while it doesn't really bother me to just let them pile up at the bottom of the list, it would just be a nice feature, if it exists.

I know it's been talked about but is there any way where you can do a bulk upload so only the first image displays on the main page and the other pictures are linked into their own gallery...it seems like we're heading toward that with this format, but this would allow story posters to post more freely without running afoul of the 10post per day rule (Hell if you had that feature you can scale it back to like 5)

The search function doesn´t do it for me... I am mostly interested in TTT images. So naturally I type in TTT in the search string, but the minimum characters are 4, otherwise the search will not work.

Is there any way to change this? Or am I stuck clicking and reading through all pics to find the few ones I am actually interested in?

(On a sidenote to all manippers: PLEASE use tags when uploading your pics)

Did you notice the keyword cloud on the front page of the Gallery where you can click on TTT and see the images?

It does work and it is there to allow searches that are less than four characters which is a limitation of SMF not the Gallery itself...

You use it for TTT, FD or MD searches as a work around...

Loving the new gallery and thank you for all the work and effort to get it up and keep us up.

Just wanted to make you aware of a little quirk which while not problem may want to be looked at when you get to very low priority bugs. When I look at the picture I've uploaded by going via the MYGALLERY link and then clicking on the category (in this case "Single Stories") the Rating is listed as 35 instead of 7 which is how appears if you look at the picture anywhere else when the Rating is displayed. As I said a piffling issue and just one to add to the curiosity pile.

I just tried it out, and rating an image increased it's value by 5. All the ratings I looked up were multiples of five.

Ie. the system appears to be awarding five points per vote. Which is fine, just a bit confusing.

Given the number of uploaders, the potential for ignoring the system, and the validity of using a space in some cases but not others (multi word keywords), there doesn't appear to be an automated way to fix the words currently causing the problem, or future words added in error.

Is crowdsourcing an option? Give a subset, or all users, the ability to report an image for bad keywords? It's not ideal, since the actual fix would still be dependent on the admin end.

Alternately, to shift the workflow burden away from the admins. Outlaw multi word keywords? Require hyphens, delete all multi words and replace them with single words? Require uploaders to fix their words if they require?

What is supposed to happen is that the vote is counted as a 5 within the system but only the number of votes are displayed... There are a few places we haven't changed the template to show this...

So, if you find them, let us know?

Really all anyone needs to do is put some commas between their keywords like it says at the keyword input field on the upload page... Some people are putting in periods or a single letter which is really not helping me a lot...

And honestly, just putting in the FD or MD or TTT or really any one tag can't be that hard can it?

Well.. In my experience relying on any group to overcome their apathy and do any simple task is pretty much futile. At best you will get fifty percent buy in. Meaning half will pay no attention and do whatever is easiest/they feel like.

That's why we have automated "input format required" systems at all, and not helpful suggestions.

We got twenty plus pictures a day on the old board? I expect if left as is you will have ten plus photos worth of keywords to fix daily. But it's not me that has to read each one for context and manually fix them, so whatever works for you

Thanks Liriel for clearing up what the little ratings wrinkle was and Tera for just being on top of everything!

I don't envy Tera her comma dilemma should I fail myself in their application I shall expect severe pitchfork proding. I hope the message penetrates all relevant minds like a well heeled hypnotic suggestion.

Just a thought on ratings--I just noticed an image where 6 people had marked an image as a favorite, but only 2 people had rated it. Dunno if it's even remotely possible, but it might be nice if making something a favorite increased the rating--I would assume that if someone favorites the image, they pretty much mean to give the image a positive review as well.

As for the bulk upload thing, it doesn't... You have to go back in to change them. It was assumed that someone would use the same keywords throughout their uploads...

Hi all.

First of all, a big thank you to Tera and the other admins for taking care of things over this difficult period. You folks put in so much effort for our benefit.

Now, a short question - I notice Tera mentioned a 2MB limit on uploads a few days ago.

Problem child here...

I've been working some more slideshows.

I know you'll have a to-do list as long as your arm so I'll go with the relative-priority thing. Do you think the file-size limit will be getting increased in the next cycle/sprint/two-weeks, or should I simply park things for the time being?
