The Return of the Raffa DoJ Halloween Event – Part 2:
The Reckoning

It was a dark and stormy night. And it was raining. Our guests arrived at the abandoned spooky mansion on the hill by a cliff by the seaside on a lone peninsula on an island off the coast of Auralis City at around 1:30 PM, per the invitation. It was a lovely early October afternoon, and the sun was high in the sky with no clouds in sight. A perfect time to host a Halloween party for friends, enemies, and everyone in between! A perfect time… for a murder. Of the mind. For there was no actual murder committed during the Halloween Party at the famed Halloween Manor on the hill by a cliff by the seaside on a lone peninsula on an island off the coast of Auralis City. Not in the literal meaning of the word, at least. For the Manor was a place of a devilish conspiracy hatched by the most Machiavellian schemers to bring four to six guests under their influence through the power of insidious mind control! What happened on that day was a mystery until now…

You took a taxi ride first. It was necessary to get to the Auralis City Port first, after all, to find a ferry to the island. The taxi driver took you on a meandering route through the terrifyingly spooky forest of Auralis City, racking up your bill to astronomical proportions and leaving you virtually penniless by the time you arrived at the edge of dark, cold, calm sea. The ferry – a dinghy, really – was easy to find and the passage to the island was already paid by the mysterious host, Vee, which enabled you to board and set for the island immediately. It was a long sail across the waves, for the ferryman took you on a long and meandering route through the terrifyingly spooky sea forest that, by all conventions, had no right to exist at all, much less even be there. You arrived at the island in a daze for your mind reeled from the eldritch mystery of the sea forest. By the time you stepped onto the dock, the boat was nowhere to be seen and you were left alone at the shore of the island off the coast of Auralis City.

With no other choice, you followed the host’s map that she gave you prior to your arrival and set off in the search of the house on the hill by the cliff by the seaside on a lone peninsula on an island off the coast of Auralis City, completely unaware that the ferryman had just finished docking his boat on the pier around the corner and conspired to retrieve an accursed automobile meant to drive you to the house  before they realized that you disappeared without a trace!

The walk, like everything else on your journey thus far, was long and fraught with perils. As you walked up the meandering beaten dirt path through the terrifyingly spooky island forest of the island off the coast of Auralis City, you saw the glimpse of the house on the hill by a cliff by the seaside on a lone peninsula on an island off the coast of Auralis City up ahead. A thunder cracked violently as you neared the entrance. You could hear the waves lapping against the rock, the wind howling around your face, your heart beating inside your chest, and a party music coming from the inside. With an overwhelming sense of dread looming over you, you reached for the novelty doorbell shaped like a doorknob resembling a dog holding a bone. Ring-a-ding-ding! The bell went twice and the sound of footsteps could be heard shambling towards the black oaken doors. The doorknob turned slowly, and the doors opened with a creak resembling the sound of a dying gull. The creature on the other side wasn’t a thing from this world. Its skin was pale and smooth, its hair was brown and went down it its waist, its purple eyes seemed to shine as they gazed through you. For what opened the door wasn’t a human woman. Nah, it was a monster. A thing straight out of legends.

A mummy. A terrifying mummy was standing in the doorway. Its wrappings being the only things holding its shambling humanoid shape together. The thing from not of this world looked at you and its lips curled up to form a toothy grin showcasing a set of healthy, straight teeth. A sound came from its vile throat resembling human speech but with a tinge of hoarseness.

”Hi!” The creature greeted you in a matter peculiar only to whatever queer plane of existence it originated from. The blood-chilling mummy extended its hand in the form of a greeting. Its hand was as cold as a human palm offered in a gesture of friendship and its grip was only as delicate as its pale, skinny fingers allowed. As the creatures willed one of its limbs to move back to invite you in, it gestured to you to come inside the manor. Then, as you stood on the precipice of destiny with the horrors of the mansion in front of you and the mundane affairs of the real world behind your back, the creature declared its invitation. ”Come inside! The others are already here!” The mummy announced, its intents dubious. As you peered over the mummy’s short stature, you would see a bowl made of clear glass filled with rectangular clumps resembling amalgams of cocoa, milk, and sugar wrapped in papers in the shades of the colors that were not of this world. With markings on them representing the words that were familiar to you, such as Snickers and Mars, but remained meaningless as you tried to wrack your brain around the context. From the living room came a smell that could only be described as cooked cured pork carcass shaped into small cylindrical objects and sliced into small pieces that were then arranged into thoughtless patterns upon the bed of mozzarella, dough, and unidentified red substance that was neither liquid nor solid but somehow both at the same time…
You know, I'm not a big fan of the whole "bark like a chicken, cluck like a dog" stuff.

A woman in one of these taxis heading for the Auralis City Port was practically oozing at the seams with joy and mischief. She had checked her makeup several times, bared her fangs to make sure they were as pointy as ever, and had probably no idea what she was in for when she got her invitation. Especially when the host in question, Vee, was making it clear that this was going to be a big party. Said woman's joy quickly dropped as she looked at the bill though, she groaned and paid it with nary a delay and started to ponder on what other expenses she'd have to deal with. Luckily the ferry itself was paid for by Vee so the woman let out a sigh of relief and waited till she was invited onboard to step onto the ferry. She clung her cloak to her tight to hide her features and made sure to stick to the shadows. The woman enjoyed the 'tour' of the forest during the ferry ride, staring out from a distance wondering what was out there and what secrets it'd hold. By the time the woman snapped out of her wonderous daze she found herself on the island and looked at the map, turning back to see if the ferry was still there only to see it was gone without a trace.

With those perilous steps done, the woman would follow the directions on the map silently cursing at herself for wearing sandals and kept her head low. The thunder made the woman jump back slightly and look up, although she quickly shook her head and recovered quickly enough. As she got closer the woman could hear the sounds of music and felt herself become more upbeat again. Although there was still that odd sense of dread and worry that hung over her. Sticking to the shadows once again, the woman would approach the front door and take note of the doorbell and doorknob. She smile and shook her head before ringing the bell, the noise not startling her this time. And in the meantime the woman silently waited for someone to answer it. The person she expected to open it was there, a fellow creature of the night.

At first, the woman didn't budge from her spot, although she did shake hands once the mummy's hand crossed the threshold to the outside. For some reason the woman's spine shivered as she remembered what was behind her, but once the invitation was given the woman finally stirred. "Thank you for inviting me, gracious host." The woman would say with an elegant dialect, although there was a hint of a giggle somewhere in that voice as she flashed a fang at the woman with a grin. In any case, a guest had arrived and she eyed the food beyond the mummy with a sudden hunger, her stomach rumbled. "I think I'll have a bite, if you don't mind." The mummy would soon realize a vampire had entered as she teased biting the mummy's neck only for it to be a feint as she moved towards the food...

The green haired woman lounged back on one of the seats in the boat. Reaching down to straighten out the black and purple dress, and then adjust the little hat clipped onto her hair. She'd made sure to dress up particularly witchy, to appease any and all other witches. For that was what she totally was. Sneezing slightly in the cold sea air, and feeling her wings lightly shudder. A couple of yellow and black feathers moving out of place, which she reached out to straighten back into place. Grumbling under her breath. Really, what was the point of being a witch (with wings no less) if she couldn't fly anywhere? No where in Auralis had sold a broom. And despite her best efforts. And the oars in the ferry stubbornly refused to listen to her commands. What was she doing wrong there? To make things worse, the taxi ride to get to the ferry had been long, cramped and expensive, but somehow proportional to the amount of wealth you had easily accessible at the time... Well whatever. It was done now. And she still had her floating pumpkin familiar. Which meant she still had snacks. And the ferry was paid for, and taking the long scenic route. Through a forest that... really seemed to be existing despite the obvious circumstances. The sights of so many trees reassured her greatly, even if the boat was rocking in the waves with far too much turbulence. It also served as a fine distraction, and without realising it she found herself back on land again. Taking the map out, that she'd also stashed away in her pumpkin, and taking the opportunity to move under her own power for a change. Stretching her legs out as she disappeared along the trail. Into yet another spooky forest. Truly spoiling her with walks in the wood at this point.

With nothing else of note whilst en route to the house. She shortly found herself in front of a large set of doors. The size of them only beaten by the large feeling of dread that oozed out from behind them. Which was completely undone, by the novelty doorbell. The witch, for again that was what she totally was, reached out and pressed it sharply. Listening to the little jingle, which was promptly accompanied by a more percussive beat of feet. She smiled, and looked suitably frightened by the woman who had invited them all here. The dommey mommy... cute... terrifying mummy. She reached out, taking the cold hand, gripping back just as lightly and moving into the house proper. "Thank you, sorry about my timing. I wasn't expected to take so long to get here. But a witch... precisely when she means to... and so on." She waved her hand dismissively, before offering the mummy a pick from the floating pumpkin candy bowl that was hovering just behind her. Making her way over to the odd set of offerings left out on tables. Somehow, entire planets had been collected, and condensed down into little prisons of plastic and aluminium.

As she did so, she met another woman, who was already perusing the offerings. And with a shake of her wings, she offered a greeting to her as well.

The Wicked Witch of Auralis
Some terrifying Cursed Location of Horror and Evil!
Tag: The horrifying Pestilent Mummy, the Terrifying Elder Evil Vampire, and the Accursed Winged Witch who Brings Only Horror!

Not all of the Taxis' heading towards Auralis docks that night were filled with the innocent! One taxi in particular was filled by a spooky scary witch! Who knew what dastardly acts of wicked witchy evil lurked in the mind of the evil witch as she, seemingly innocently but I promise you actually fully malevolently, stared out of the window as the taxi sped it's evil cursed passage through the city. "Huh... I didn't even know Auralis had a forest" thought the witch as she no doubt plotted her evil witchy revenge upon the taxi-driver for taking her on this circuitous route.

Though as the witch could teleport quite why she was taking a taxi in the first was a mystery, no doubt a spooky and malevolent mystery!

The taxi pulled up to the docks and the Witch was revealed to the world as she got out of the taxi, briefly leaving her hat on the rear seat before quickly retrieving it, an act that was no doubt just the first of many curses that would be lain upon, Kathy looked at the taxi driver's ID quickly, Ian and his cursed taxi forever more! The second part of the curse was giving a 20% tip and wishing him a good evening. But in a foul cursed way!!!

The rest of the journey went much the same as the evil Witch did stand on the bow of the... okay I'll be generous, 'ferry' and passed through... the... sea forest?? Kathy looked out at the dark spooky trees but was honestly too confused to really be scared, how shallow was the water? Were those mangrove trees? How did any of this ma- um... Wooooo! Wooooo! The Witch did pass through the spooky forest! Though spooky as the forest was, it could not compare to the spookiness of the Witch herself! Nay! For naught could compare to that, she thought to herself jovi-I mean evilly as the island that was her destination came into view an-

"Ah fuck this" Kathy thought as she suddenly summoned her swo-Witch's Wand out and cut a por- Cast a Portal Spell in the air in front of her and just teleported to the front door, skipping the final dark haunted forest completely in a way that only a truly evil witch could achieve! She arrived at the other end right in front of the front door to the House on the Hill and knocked on the door... only to be greeted by the horrifying visage of a flesh rotting pulsating Mummy! "Die Monster!" shouted the Witch as she drew her Suspiciously Sword Shaped Witch's Wand again and pointed it at the horrifying terrible mummy "You don't belong in this world!" she cried again as she readied herself for combat!

"Oh, hello Director!" The Witch continued, her foul evil words no doubt containing a thousand curses! "I hope I'm not too late!" The Witch exclaimed, her words so terrible that no human mind could even process what they had heard! The Witch entered the house, confident in her safety now that the Mummy had been cursed into obedience! The inside of the house was lovingly arranged, with lots of treats and snack- Oh I mean, truly! The inside of this accursed home was a horror to match it's terrifying owner! But lo, the Witch was not afraid! For she knew that even in this festering cove of horror she was still truly the most horrifying thing around!

The researcher had no idea why she had been invited to a remote location away from her research by people she'd never met.  Wasn't this supposedly something rich people did?  Whatever.  Everyone was supposed to come in a costume.  It would be embarrassing and troublesome if she wore some outfit of some sort, but she had been wanting to try out a new formulation.  If she could use this event as part of her research, she could write off the event as a work expense too.  And people had been saying she really needed to get out more... even if Auralis was technically a war zone.

"...gecko, tuatara, osprey, flounder, aand a little bit of demonic energies."  Trying to increase the duration of the injections was iffy at best, but she wanted the transformation to last the duration of the whole party.  Best not to shoot up until she was near the mansion aaaand pack a couple more of the test vials just in case.  With a duffel bag full of possible clothes based on her new shape and how confident she felt in the new form, she climbed into the taxi.

Her hair stood on end as they traveled through such thick and dark woods as she'd never seen or heard of being near Auralis.  She attempted to distract herself by pulling out a notebook from her duffel.  Despite the meandering trip and spooky scenery, she got lost in her thoughts and barely noticed the time flying by until the taxi came to a stop.  She nearly blanched at the sight of how much the ride had cost but reminded herself that the university would be reimbursing her for the trip and made sure to get a receipt from the man.

There were several boats and ships at the Auralis Port, but the researcher was beginning to understand why it wasn't rich guests who had been invited as her eyes fell upon the dinghy that was supposed to carry her to the island retreat.  "Mierda," she muttered.  Hopefully the thing wouldn't sink from her weight.  She cautiously climbed aboard with her baggage and judiciously kept to the center of the little ship so that she wouldn't fall overboard if the waves jostled her a bit.  The fact that there were trees growing all around up out of the water puzzled her.  This wasn't the bayou or the Everglades and... were those cycads and actual fern trees growing up out of the water!?  She pushed her glasses back up the bridge of her nose as she leaned towards the edge of the boat, trying to get a better view of the trees.  Unfortunately, a misty haze made it difficult to be sure if she was truly seeing an aquatic forest that belonged more in the Triassic period than modern times.

The tantalizing images in the haze only served to frustrate her curious mind, making the biologist almost grateful when the dinghy came to shore.  At least now she could get to some more concrete experimentation.  As soon as she was off the boat, she shot herself up with her latest genetic cocktail.  Her slim frame slimmed further as a her eyesight became sharper.  Golden eyes peered into the woods ahead as scales began to cover her neck, shoulders, and hips.  Patches of scales formed upon the tops of her cheeks as large feathers sprouted out through her hair.  Her pupils became slitted, and she felt pressure building at the back of her pants.  Used to growing a tail of some sort, she quickly lowered her jeans and panties just enough to give room for the growing appendage.  The pressure against her chest was not unexpected but a bit more annoying.  She could only imagine that the demonic energy was why so many of her transformations ended up with larger chests.  Reptile and bird genetics certainly shouldn't have been increasing that aspect of her form.  Stepping further into the woods with her bag, she opened it up and started picking some clothes out for her new body.

The scientist felt energized, even more than she usually did when transformed.  Checking no one was nearby, she quickly stripped and changed into something lighter that allowed plenty freedom of motion.  Her tail wagged excitedly as she tucked the extra vials into little pockets built into her top.  Tossing her glasses and other clothes into the bag, she pulled out the map to the island before stowing her duffel near the dock.  Her heart was beating wildly as she approached the mansion, not from fear but from the overwhelming energy packed into this body.  She wanted to climb some walls and ceilings, dive into the water, and chow down on some tasty crickets!  The bouncy bounding steps of her new form paused as she fully registered that last urge.  After a second, she shrugged and made a mental note of it.  There had certainly been worse urges she'd experienced in the past.

Osprey eyes could easily peer through the reflections on the water or glass, but they wouldn't be able to see better in the dark.  Thankfully the room beyond the doorway was well-lit as she greeted the loosely wrapped mummy, "Hola!  Hihi!"  The energy bubbling within made it difficult to not want to say more, but if the others were already here, standing and chatting with the host was going to delay whatever was planned.  "Bueno, mi amiga!  Okay, thanks!" she told her host as she skipped past the mummy and into the room.  Her head twisted and bounced this way and that as she zoomed curiously around.  A handful of Mars disappeared in her palm and dangerously sharp nails deftly peeled their contents out as she explored the area and the people as she popped the explosive little chocolatey sugar bombs into her mouth.

Psynta Claus
House on the Hill That Seems Pretty Chill
Tagging: Everybody in the house (say yeah)

"Hohoho-HO! Thanks for the invite! Let's GO! " Psynta Claus merrily entered the welcoming abode. Despite how she was dressed, being welcomed was key - she wouldn't break and enter, like some poop of the party! She was there to give it life, give it hype, give it rhyme! Or at the very very least, to have a good time.

After giving the mummy a most soulful handshake. Psynta went right on in to meet her partying fate! And there inside, as expected, she'd see many new faces. Though she knew the scent of one who was off to the races. That zippy little lizard, so agile and spry. I'd recognize your scent from anywhere, my guy. Not that it was the same, not exactly, not as such. But for sure the same 'family', Psynta could tell without a touch. So after matching her friend's smile, and her place upside-down on the wall. "I'm glad you came," Psynta told her. "Now go have a ball!" With the smile of the season Psynta would leave the wall crawler. Floating down to witches three, let's say in order of who was taller!

"Happy seasons, my witches! Nice hats, lookin' hot! I just wish this music wasn't such a darned flop...hmm. Maybe Psynta Claus herself should start making it pop...? OHOHOHOHOHOH!"

The guests poured into the mansion filled with terrors and gloom.
The doors slammed shut behind, leaving them to their doom.
The terrifying mummy turned on its heel,
It opened mouth, and gave them its spiel:
”Sorry about that, the doors tend to be overly dramatic in this place.”
The mummy girl said with a blush on its… cheeks.

With the spooky rhyming scheme ended before it could truly wreak havoc on the otherwise pleasant evening, the guests were free to mingle for some time. And what a gathering it was: a terrifying mummy, a scary vampire, two witches (one birdy and one wicked), a gecko, and Santa Claus. The lattermost being perhaps the spookiest one of them all because was there a more efficient way of scaring someone to death by making them think that the Christmas arrived two months too early?

Now that they gathered inside the main party room, they were effectively trapped inside the mansion until dawn due to the binding social contract preventing them from leaving too soon as that would be considered extremely rude. Gathered in such a confined space, they were also forced to face their greatest fear (assumedly): socializing. Making small talk. Exchanging pleasantries. Catching up with friends. It was all so… blood-chilling. But all those dreadful scenarios paled in comparison to what awaited our two cute frightening witches. As they decided to dress up as the same creature for Halloween, they were forced to face the spine-chilling reality: they were obligated to comment on each other’s costumes. The daunting reality demanded for them to bond over how crazy it was that they got a similar idea and how compliment on each other’s cute eerie choice of attire.

The vampire on the other hand faced a different tribulation, but not any less unnerving. The confused gazes of her fellow partygoers (or at least of one partygoer: Vee) and comments such as ”So, what are you supposed to be, exactly?”. Followed by ”Ohh, right. Y-yeah, I can sort of see that. It’s nice.” after she answered the mummy’s query. ”I thought it was a like a bunny, because of the ears.” The vampire would hear the mummy’s voice grating against her skull. ”Which really confused me because of the whole ‘bite’ comment.”. How fearsome.

And lastly, the gecko. The colorful gecko, it seemed, was perhaps the most unique costume of them all. Colorful and flashy. Showing just enough skin to walk along that fine line between ‘appropriate’ and ‘trashy’. But, of course, there was that tail. The tail probably took quite some time to get just right unless, of course, the doctor decided to buy a whole costume online or rent it out. Regardless of its origins, it presented a hidden danger. A threat lurking just beyond the corner of the gecko’s mind. A very real possibility that she would accidentally bump into something or knock down the punch bowl, make scene, and find herself in the center of everyone’s attention. All flustered. How awkward. How positively terrifying.

Once the right atmosphere was set and all the guests were sufficiently spooked to get the party going into full swing, the mummy stepped into the center of the room and clapped its (decadently not) rotting hands to draw their attention. It fixed one of the loose wrappings around its body, cleared its throat, and announced to its guests:

”Thank you everyone for coming! Sadly, it looks like some of our guests won’t be attending so we will have to do with just six of us. I’ve got a lot of stuff planned for us today! There’ll be snacks, food, drinks, movies, music, and games! For tonight, I had someone prepare a fun game for us!” The terrifying mummy announced triumphantly as it pulled out an envelope sealed with red-colored wax coagulated blood. The mummy broke the seal, unleashing whatever tormented soul was slumbering inside and started to read the letter’s infernal contents. ”And for our first game, we have the traditional Halloween… Easter Egg hunt…?” With a confused look on its face, the mummy furrowed its brow and read the letter again.

”Erm, well, I’ve been told that these, uh, events tend to run a bit late and suffer from plenty of delays so, well, it might not seem appropriate now but it might be just right by the time we’re done!” The brown-haired mummy said with an awkward chuckle as it, too, was stuck inside its own personal horror: public speaking and event hosting. ”This said that we, ideally, would pair off but since there are only six of us, I suggest we go solo! I guess the person who finds the most Halloween… Easter Eggs… wins! Well, uh, go! Split up and start looking, I guess!”

And with that, the horrifying game was afoot…

The vampire narrowed her eyes at the mummy mid stride, but met the comments with a fanged smile and half-lidded stare. "I wanted to be atypical and unique, I'd say that sufficed, plus with all that work I've put in I think I look great." With that, she continued her stride towards the food and happily started to devour some of the helpings that were there as more and more people arrived. Other than the questions about her attire, the vampire was happy as a creature of the night could be, she had a place to nestle in and was away from all the spooky weather outside. It was a shame that others couldn't make it, but that wasn't going to make this any less fun of a party. Luckily, she wouldn't have to wait long to socialize as one of the witches approached her. A winged witch, her fangs glinted in the light as her mouth formed a small 'o'.

"Hello! Are you here for some food too? I'm just dying to eat, that was far too long of a trek for me." She waved at the green-haired witch, the vampire saw another blonde witch approach, and she addressed the mummy with a name of 'Director'. Obviously Yasu, that being the vampire, was trying to play it off and remain in character but couldn't help but smile at the blonde who entered, she was energetic and ready for the night. "You're not late, the guests are still arriving." The vampire then saw quite a marvelous sight enter, a frightening dinosaur introduced themselves to everyone! Even the vampire jumped in surprise at the new guest. The santa was out of season, but it was still a pretty costume so the vampire grinned at it and waved.

And then the bone-chilling announcements from the mummy came around. It seemed that some guests had either gotten lost, were late, or weren't arriving so they'd be starting the festivities early. "There is a lot planned for tonight. And an Easter egg hunt? Sounds good to me." The vampire tapped her finger to her lips wondering where the mummy came up with such an idea, but decided to shrug her shoulders and move on. With that settled, she looked at the others around her. "I'm gonna go this way, good luck!" The vampire retreated into the darkness of... a room in the back and started to search for these easter eggs.

The Wicked Witch of Auralis
Some terrifying Cursed Location of Horror and Evil!
Tag: The horrifying Pestilent Mummy, the Terrifying Elder Evil Vampire, the Accursed Winged Witch who Brings Only Horror, The Magnificent Dinosaur(non-avian) who stalks the Skyscrapers of the Wicked, and the Raping Santa who's rhymes bring despair to the just!

"Oh phew!" The Wicked Witch explained with a voice that would terrify Satan himself, despite him having control over the soul of the Witch, it mattered not to her! For she was so evil that she had naught use for the soul in the first place! "Oh nice costume Yasu!" The Witch did curse at the Vampire who's name she absolutely did not know... actually... I don't think Kathy has met Yasu either has she? IT MATTERS NOT FOR THE WITCH POSSESSES SIGHT BEYOND THE UNSEEN! *Ahem* Yes... yes that will explain it. In any case, while the Witch was no doubt about to curse the dinosaur into being her eternal slave of the night! She was distracted when an incredibly cute dinosaur entered the room... followed by... a raping... santa... huh. Oh well, points for originality!

But the time for pleasantries had passed! For the Witching hour was about to begin! Lol! The Witching Hour! The hour where the Witch's Curses were at their most potent! Truly none could withstand her on this house... save perhaps for her fellow Witch whom she had very embarrassingly turned up in the same outfit as. "Oh that's a really nice costume!" The Witch did say to her fellow Witch "The wings in particular are very cute!" Ha! Unbeknownst to the Petulant Mummy that hosted this dark gathering of the Damned, Kathy, unlike her player, was actually a bit of a social butterfly who handled social gatherings quite well... Well... um... okay not butterfly. She's not quite at social butterfly level, but like... what's the category below butterfly? Moth? Yes! A social Moth! The one who would socialise but like at the end of the day when it's not so busy and most people have gone home and Kathy is lured in with a pretty lamp.

The mummy proceeded to list the first of tonights cursed tasks from which the weak would no doubt be purged!! And it was an Easter egg hunt. Huh. Maybe it was some ancient Celtic thing that Vee was trying to bring back or something, yeah that made sense. "Contest for finding eggs is it? No problem! With my ancient dark magics I should have no difficulty completing this task!" Kathy said highly dramatically, before pulling her cape around her, equally dramatically... except it was a really short cape so flopped back immediately. But the Witch was undeterred!! And just to make sure that no one followed the path she was taking, so all eggs along that path would be hers!..

"Boop!"

She teleported elsewhere in the building.

The Wicked Witch of the Wind
A place where evil may or may not reside
Tag: The eerie sight her eyes beheld.

She smiled and waved back at the vampire. Nodding in response. "I am! I've been burning through a lot of energy lately! So need to keep my strength up" Leaning over, to pick up a few of the delicacies. going for the more savoury for the moment. Placing them on a plate and nibbling at them delicately. At least whilst attention was on her. When others were distracted she'd eat a lot less elegantly. "And you're here for food? Not a drink?" She giggled softly again as she let her eyes flick obviously to the vampire's fangs. Her attention was grabbed though when one of her ancestors a reptilian guest arrived. And she raised a hand to wave excitedly at the fast moving newcomer. "Oh! I like your feathers!" She managed out, in the short amount of time the guest was still enough for her to address her.

But there was still another guest! A... A... She blinked a few times. The existential dread of having turned up too late to a social event filling her. Oh no. Had she turned up too late? Like. Way too late?! She snacked on another pastry, eyes glued to the rapping pinkette as she moved closer. Addressing both her, and the other witch... Whilst wearing the same thing might in some cases create social anxiety. In this case, it was a reassurance that she had not, in fact, turned up several months late. "Nice hat yourself!" Giggling at the laugh and picking up a peculiarly shaped potato based product. "Well I'd be careful. I hear once you start making it pop, you can no longer stop!"

With the Psynta introduced, that only left the other witch for her to talk to! She turned to face her directly. Caught off guard as the other witch spoke up first. "Oh thank you! I like yours as well! Can you fly on the broom?" Pausing as the other woman carried on. Tilting her head curiously and flapping her wings. Her feathers neatening out behind her. "Oh thank you! I need them to fly!" She'd speak more, but was saved from the necessity of small talk when the other witch moved on to talk to the others... And then the mummy carried on with the instructions.

They were doing an... egg hunt? Was she supposed to roost at the end? During? And where would she... Maybe she should explore the attic or roof of the house first? As the mummy announced the beginning of the hunt, she turned to look at the vampire, who was sinking into the shadows, and then there was a sharp *crack* and a rush of incoming air as the other witch disappeared. She grinned and waved at the others, her wings shooting out, extending to the sides of her. "Well then, see you guys later!" Before backflipping up and soaring out of a door on the mezzanine level that was totally there. Disappearing down a corridor, aiming to go higher in the house.

Psynta Claus
House on the Hill That Seems Pretty Chill
Tagging: Everybody in the house (say yeah)

So much for the musical how-do-ya-do. The game was a 'hunt' now, and a scary one too! Psynta watched as Bunwitchula bounced quick and bounced fast. Witchy 2 followed suit with a boopity flash! The Mad Hatwitch seemed chill, Psynta pegged her as "polite." Until she flipped out of nowhere and zipped outta sight! Then there were three. Including Psynta's old new friend. "Why don'tcha check the chimneys out? While I tie up loose ends?"

Loose ends? With that message pulled straight from shadow's  fore. Was Psynta planning to settle some kind of personal score...?  "Tie up loose ends," while a vague thing to say. One could only think it made her sound like the villain of this play! Nonetheless, even so. It wasn't like she took questions. She went right through the walls! Whatever her intentions. Taking the form of pure mist as only Psynta Claus might, for these cracked up old wallls had no chance to stop her flight. But where, oh where, did Psynta Claus go? The aswer to that only The Foreshadow would know.

The colorful terrorsaurian reptilian in frighteningly festive garb was in such a complete disguise that most eyes wouldn't judge her when she returned to her work.  It gave the awkward yet curious scientist a boost in confidence if not a boost in small talk.  And she had yoga shorts on under her loincloth and top that more than covered the important bits!  It was definitely okay no matter which angle someone looked.  That was important since the other guests would likely see her from all angles before the day was over.

She greeted the vamp, witch, and witch in rapid succession before delicately grasping the base of a wing to test if it felt real.  Indeed it did as she muttered away, her uniquely textured fingers catching on the surface before she carefully released them.  "Fascinante, fasscinante," the bird witch heard her say.  More loudly she said to the witch with a creepy, hungry smile that was perhaps supposed(?) to be friendly "I like your feathers too," before placing the remaining wrapped chocolates in her breast pockets and zooming up the nearby wall.  'It worked!' she thought as she scrambled around, getting a bird's-eye view of the main room.

Lifting one gecko-like hand, she examined it closely, her third tuatara-like eyelid blinking sideways across her osprey-like eye as she peered at the detailed texture, her pupils constricting to black lines.  She would have likely been frozen there a while longer, fascinated with her own costume if not for a familiar voice joining the room.  Her head tilted and twisted back and forth as she oriented on the words below.

Golden eyes widened, their black slits dilating wider at the sight of the rapper in Christmas attire.   An involuntary smile of familiarity flitted over her face, and she grinned again at the greeting as she rolled her eyes and gave a half-hearted wave to the enthusiastic rapper.  She could catch up with the peaceful demon later; there was much to discover and explore this night.

Using one hand and her mouth, she torn open a couple more half-melted bombs of chocolaty sweetness fished from her pockets.  Devouring them, she savoured the flavour, an eager smile on her face as she began to zip around, scouting the lay of the place.  Though she was not leaving the main room, she climbed around and peered past the halls and doors on the various floors.

The mummy interrupted her investigations as the party officially began, and back down the wall, the reptilian researcher speedily ran.  An egg hunt?  She flicked her tongue out to taste the air.  There were scents all over, but nothing particularly familiar to her altered senses.  The strongest one, she could tell was coming from the cured, processed porcine muscle on fermented bovine extract covering a coagulated red substance whose base may have once protected the offspring of a solanaceous life form.  This was not eggs though!  Her new sense of taste couldn't help her yet.  As her tongue was flitting around, everyone else started scattering from the room with swishes and boops and flaps and err.. whatever mist does.

Gazing dumbly at the spot where Psynta Claus was, she processed the words a few seconds more.  Turning to the mummy, she opened her mouth and then closed it again.  She was not going to ask if this place even had chimneys!  Instead she climbed the wall to the higher floors, heading in the opposite direction of that bird witch, her flounder-like camouflage finally activating as she zoomed down a corridor.

Psynta Claus ventured out into the mansion so quick,
With the attitude and rhyming scheme that was most slick.
She searched far and she searched wide,
Oh where oh where could the Halloween eggs hide?
The mummy with the exposed tummy
And the attitude that was chummy
Naturally failed to say
How many of those darned eggs were in play.
Then she turned around the corner, and there saw a fren,
Who was right upon her before she could count to ten,
Without a ‘hello!’ or ‘how do you do?’,
The fren was upon her and…

”…and I just sort of found her.” The terrifying mummy said after all the other guests poured into the main ballroom.

The craziest thing happened before the egg hunt could begin in earnest. Everyone seemed to be having a spooky time socializing and walking around the dimly lit scary manor until their host raised an alarm and ordered everyone back into the main party room. Once they got back, they learned that someone had committed a most foul murder mind control upon one of the guests! Whoever the culprit was, they seemed to have targeted poor Psynta Claus as their (first) victim of the night.

To make the matters even more bood-chilling, Psynta Claus wasn’t just wearing a costume anymore. She would truly believe that she was Psynta Claus, the rapping Santa! All those weird people around her dressed in all sorts of blood-curdling outfits trying to tell her otherwise? Why, they were acting all silly. In fact, she would struggle to remember the times when she wasn’t Psynta Claus.

”And that’s the gist of it.” The mummy shrugged and immediately fixed some of the wrappings around her (not actually) skeletal-like body that very nearly became undone. ”She seems to believe that she really is… err… Psynta. No amount of arguing will manage to convince her otherwise, I’m afraid. Unless someone is pulling a prank on us, I think that the person who’s done this to her…”

The mummy waited.

And waited.

And waited.

She waited for about five to ten minutes. After that, she declared a break for snacks, drinks, and pizza.

After about an hour, thunder finally clashed behind the window for dramatic effect.

”… is one of us!” The undead mummy made the terrifying declaration.

Round 2 Begins!
Psynta Claus has been eliminated by the Mafia!
Players, get your votes in by Saturday Evening!
You know, I'm not a big fan of the whole "bark like a chicken, cluck like a dog" stuff.

The Wicked Witch of Auralis
Some terrifying Cursed Location of Horror and Evil!
Tag: The horrifying Pestilent Mummy, the Terrifying Elder Evil Vampire, the Accursed Winged Witch who Brings Only Horror, The Magnificent Dinosaur(non-avian) who stalks the Skyscrapers of the Wicked, and the Rapping Santa who's rhymes bring despair to the just!

So it turned out that teleporting randomly about a house wasn't a good way to hunt of Halloween eggs. "Well fuck, what do I do know?" Kathy thought to herself as she started searching rooms via walking normally between them now unsure of which ones she had already done during her random teleport hunt, oh yes and Silverkat got tired of all the evil witch stuff so fuck it, narrating normally now. Katherine hurried from room to room sure that she had fallen behind on the egg hunt, and hey, you know what they say. 'Egg'.

That was went she heard the alarm call, finally a situation for which teleportation was designed! Katherine appeared back into the main party room with a pop only to find that Psynta... was acting like Psynta! Wait wasn't that expected? "Vee, are you sure she's not just very committed to the bit?" Katherine asked, waving her hand in front of Psyne's face for some reason, that would be a good way to check for concussion but no one had suggested she had that! But still... Vee had said that someone had mind controlled her and that the culprit... was one of them! She offered no evidence of this of course, but Kathy decided to accept her word for it on the grounds that they only had like one day till Noson Galan Gaeaf and she didn't want to add obstacles to getting on with it.

"So what we have here is a classic locked room mystery" Kathy explained, even though it was nothing of the sort. One of them had ambushed and hypnotised Psyne into acting like her costume! Fortunately none of them had dressed up as any perverse! Surely their only hope now was to split up every time so the assailant could pick them off one by one! Errr wait or maybe the opposite of that. Oh, of course she knew what to do! "Right then! We have to solve this mystery! Everyone! Where were you when the... honestly rather mild crime all things considered, took place?!"

Yasu the vampire blinked and jumped at the alarm and immediately reported to the gathering, only to see Psynta Claus in a compromised state. The vampire snapped her fingers and waved her hand in front of her a few times, but to no avail. Nothing changed, and Yasu dropped her vampire act for a moment. "Whoever did this is more focused on getting them in character than anything else nefarious, it's really odd." Yasu circled around Psynta Claus for several moments before flipping off her hood and baring her terrifying face in full to everyone. The vampire looked at everyone gathered and nodded at The Wicked Witch of Auralis, Kathy's, statement. And volunteered her whereabouts without delay. "I was hunting for eggs over there, if you recall I was the first one to pick. I don't think it's a mystery what I was doing." The vampire stuck her tongue out, and once again looked over Psynta Claus with a pensive expression, she turned to the group and took a deep breath.

"The problem is, she could turn into mist, so she could've been anywhere. All of us are suspects, even me. That being said we need to start narrowing this down, I don't think it was the mummy, why would she report her own crime? I also don't think it's you, you may be taking charge but you're taking no glee in what happened. The person who did this will take pride in their work, and I'm not just saying that as an artist." The vampire looked at the blonde witch with her fang glinting in the light, then turned to the other two.

"I think it's you!" The vampire pointed at the dinosaur with a dramatic flair. "Because you've been quiet, and quiet people usually are hiding something!"

Flawless logic really, but Yasu didn't really have much to go on yet...

The Wicked Witch of the Wind
A place where evil may or may not reside
Tag: The eerie sight her eyes beheld.

She shifted slightly in the air as she landed to make her way through another door. Taking to the air was all well and good in a manner when it was foyers or large corridors... Significantly less so when it was normal rooms. Even with the smaller wings of her hybrid form. It did let her move with a surprising turn of speed though! Which was useful. As an alarm blared through the house... Causing her to have to spin around. Managing to re enter the main room somehow from the opposite direction she had left it in. Eyes widening in surprise as she saw the Psynta rapping away with even more vigour then before. Part of her incredibly surprised that she had returned to see the sight. And wasn't currently... Under the impression she was a witch? Well that was good. Where would she find an oar to fly on anyway? And she'd probably look terrible in a kimon-

She coughed politely as the mummy made her declaration. Turning to look at the other witch as she investigated the poor unfortunate soul. She raised a hand to point out the fallacy of her follow up statement, before deciding against it. They really did have to solve the mystery after all!

And the witch and the vampire were already on the case! With an accusation following quickly to boot! She turned to look at the dinosaur. Humming slightly, before turning back to the vampire. "Maybe, but we don't really have any evidence of that?" She tapped a finger to her lips, tilting her head as she started to think out loud. "I mean, I flew off by myself so I don't even know where Psynta or the Dino went... And You vanished into the shadows so maybe you watched?" She shot the vampire a look, before turning to the other witch. "And whilst you could have teleported anywhere, I figure it would be hard to teleport to one of us, without knowing where we are?" She smiled awkwardly. "I assume?"

The Real Psynta Claus
House on the Hill That Seems Pretty Chill
Tagging: Everybody in the house (say yeah)

It was beyond common knowledge that to deliver her gifts, the one and only Psynta Claus could turn to mist. So there was nothing sus at all about Bunwitchula knowing this! Even if Bunbuns bounced first, long before she could see it herself. She must've heard about that mist thing from some elf on the shelf. As for the others, who else would have a chance....without needing to pursue that, Psynta looked to Ms. Mummy askance.

"I know I'm kind of a big deal, but you gotta believe! I'm the for real-real Psynta, and Psynta is me!" Hearing enough accusations of imposter syndrome, Psynta Claus spat the straight truth straight into the dome! "I'm the swishest of Dismas. I'm cute as a dish, Sis! And if you try to gaslight me, you'll end up on my hit list! Psynta P. Clause, yeah, save the applause! Just tell me you can see this 'hypnosis' story's flaws." As if anyone else could lay out such a beat. Psynta was as quick with her tongue as she was on her feet!

The reptilian hybrid had barely searched a room when the alarm blared.  She winced but came racing back on all fours to the main hall, rushing down the wall rather than take the time to reach the stairs.  Even then she was the last one back, the guests all had crazy speeds she still lacked.  She raised up on only her legs and peered around, confused by the situation she found.

Listening to the conversation, she zipped around Psyne and peered at her from all angles.  'Was she mind controlled or was she just really in character?'  The mummy seemed convinced that Psyne was mind controlled, and while Morgan believed the friendly vampire in Christmas garb might get really into character, she couldn't imagine a reason Psyne would keep it up after all of this commotion about her being mind controlled.  That's taking a role a little too far.  That was worrisome.... and they'd sort of maybe been friends?  Hopefully she'd be able to figure out how to reverse this.  Despite Psynta not knowing there was anything amiss, a gecko-like hand briefly rested on her shoulder in reassurance.

So lost was she in her own thoughts that she hadn't noticed the other's conversation until the bunny vamp shouted and pointed at her.  The dinosaur spun her head in Yasu's direction in shock, her pupils looking almost round as she realized what was said.  "Yo? En serio?" she said incredulously, a finger on her left hand pointed at chest.  "I experiment on peoples bodies, not their minds!  And I focus on animal traits!  Why would I jeopardize my work on something like this?!" Her claw-tipped hand gestured grandly toward Psynta Claus.  "And why would I target Psyne of all people?  My work is on humans not demons and she's a... well, if I was going to do some sort of experiment, it would be on a fellow human and with contractual consent!"

Taking a couple deep breaths the dino said a bit more calmly, "I was searching upstairs when the alarm sounded, and I can't teleport or fly around or whatever else.  But that doesn't prove anything because I don't know where Psyne was.  I saw her turn to mist and move through a wall, but all she said was that she was going to be 'tying up loose ends.'  What does that even mean in the context of an egg hunt?" Her head tilted as her brain tried once more to wrap around the strange concept.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she began bobbing her head while looking between everyone in the room.  Her legs were bouncing up and down as she turned as if full of barely contained energy.  The motion would potentially drew attention to her swaying cleavage or to the energetically swishing tail that rested just above firm, toned glutes.  "So, so.  What was everyone else up to?  Anyone here normally enjoy messing with people's minds?  I only know the mummy by rep.  Are the rest of you all human?"  Her gaze had turned toward the avian witch with real wings at that last question, curious for both her own research as well as for the investigation.
